Recommendation: Master Pieces of JP Animation Film

After you grew up, how often do you watch animation film? Animation films are usually recognized as for children, however; it is absolutely NOT true! Some animation enables us to enjoy the carefully-made story, the elaborate animation technology and so on.

In this time I would like to introduce three animation films focusing on Japanese to you. Japanese animation film are not only the works of Studio Gibli, so I hope this blog will be the footstep to try to watch Japanese Animation Films.

#1 Your Name (君の名は)

For the first time in a thousand years, Japan awaits the great approach of a comet one month later. Mitsuha, a country girl living in a small village, long to move to the big city. That is because she needed to follow her ancient customs really strictly, and always needed be a good girl due to her father who is politician. She really wanted to leave the village, and one day she shouted ‘I want to be a handsome boy in Tokyo in the next life!’.

Next morning, Mitsuha waked up as a high school boy living in Tokyo whose name is Taki. At first, she enjoyed the life in Tokyo as a funny dream. However, after the repeated phenomenon, gradually Mitsuha and Taki realized that each other’s bodies are actually replaced…!

Your Name directed by Makoto Shinkai was released in August, 2016 in Japan. The movie made over 25 billion yen and climbed to the fourth of the box office in Japanese movie history.

Interesting Story which enables us to be into the movie, extremely precise descriptions such as townscapes of Tokyo, great music in this movie produced by RADWIMPS which is one of the popular Japanese bands… These are the main reasons why lot of people in not only Japan but also other countries are fascinated with Your Name.

#2 In This Corner of the World(この世界の片隅に)

This story is based in Hiroshima, Japan during the war (WWⅡ). The main character Suzu, who is such a cheerful person, married and lived with her husband’s family in Kure, a little bit far city from Hiroshima. She spent her life with a little happiness, but gradually her peaceful life was collapsing cruel as the situation of war became worse…

Originally In this Corner of the World published as comics by Shiyo Kouno. She is from Hiroshima, and her grandmother and mother are from Kure where is the set of this story. It is said this story is based on the experience of her grandmother. In 2015, in order to produce the film, 3,374 people supported by the way of crowdfunding. Totally 3.9billion yen was raised, and in the end this film was released in 2016.

Although the theme of In this Corner of the World is ‘WAR’, it is really interesting cause the film focus on especially people’s daily life. People in this film is nothing different from people of today. Laughing or smiling with others, having meals with somebody very important for the person, feeling happy and sad…Every person live each life to the full everyday in the corner of this world, and this film tells us how difficult and grateful to live normally. I hope you catch the message that Suzu wants to express us!

#3 Akira(アキラ)

The protagonist is Kaneda who lived in Neo Tokyo built after Tokyo was destroyed by the new bomb in the World War Ⅲ(2019). One day, Kaneda is involved in a battle over psychics, which the military studies secretly, with Tetsuo who is a close friend of Kaneda and has awaked to psychic in the wake of accident. In order to stop the runaway of Tetsuo who attempts to conquer the world by using his power and unsealing the strongest psychic ‘Akira’ sealed by the military secretly, Kanada works with his other friends.

Akira is a comic books by Katsuhiro Otomo for 1982 to 1990, and it is animated as a theater version in 1988. He is such a great comic writer ever, and many famous people related to film and comic have been influenced by him. And also, Akira was elected as one of the best animation movies in the world lining up with Studio Ghibli by Time Out, an international big magazine.

Then, why a lot of people are charmed with this movie? That is because, I think, the quality of music and movie in this film is extraordinary great. For example, the designs of mechanical things like bikes are so precise and cool, and the music when Tetsuo awaked to psychic makes us feel terrified. By using the high skill of music and movie effectively, everyone enable to feel like “I’m inside the movie world!”

Although there are some violent and grotesque descriptions in this film, it must be worth to watching!

From meeting To parting, TOY STORY 1~3

Hello! welcome to Movieroom and nice to meet you! I’m Woody, a cowboy toy.

Do you know Toy Story 4 has been released? It’s been 9 years since Toy Story 3 was released! Toy Story 1 was released in 1995 and Toy story 2 was released 1999, so I think Toy Story has quite a long history. During the three movies many things happened to me, other toys and Andy.

#Toy Story 4 : Our trip is not over yet!

In Toy Story 4, I went out to find a new friend Forky. And I happened to meet my old friend Bo peep and opened my eyes to the new world through her. Meanwhile, Buzz went on a dangerous adventure out for looking for me and Forky.

Wait!

Even, if you’ve watched the all of Toy Story series before, you might can not remember much now. Or someone might be worried because she/he doesn’t know anything what was going before. So, now I’m going to tell you whole plot from Toy Story 1 to Toy Story 3.

#Toy story 1 in 1995

This is Andy, the owner of toys. I was Andy’s most precious toy.

In Andy’s birthday, toys were worried about that new toy will threaten their place. I told them not to worry, but honestly, I was very worried too.

As expected, Andy got a nice toy as a birthday present. His name is Buzz, the latest action toy with the wings folded and unfolded, laser and digital voice! With the advent of Buzz, I began to worry about losing my position ,Andy’s most precious toy, to Buzz. Because the best fear for all toys is being pushed by new toys.

Meanwhile, Buzz believed he is not a toy, but a cosmonaut from outer space. I didn’t like him and eventually I planned to get rid of him.

However, things didn’t go as smoothly as my mind did. Me and Buzz, trapped in the house next door’s little kid Sid’s. Sid is a very tough kid on toys, such as breaking toys or disassembling their necks. I said “Let’s get back to Andy’s side,” but Buzz was going to knock down the enemies(Sid and his dog). In the process, Buzz was shocked that he is not an astronaut, but a mass-produced toy. Buzz gave up everything and tried to close his eyes. However, I reminded him of his value as a toy, and we decided to return to Andy’s home.

As a result, we learned true friendship and trust through life-threatening adventures, and we returned safely to Andy’s side.

#Toy Story 2 in 1999

I was spending peaceful days with Andy and other toys. And I was looking forward for going to a cowboy camp with Andy. But, while playing with Andy, my arm was broken, and Andy left me at home and went to a cowboy camp alone.

I was disappointed, at that time, I met a penguin toy named Wheezy. But for a while, Andy’s mother looked around Andy’s room to sell useless things and took Wheezy. I found out that Wheezy is destined to be sold to someone soon, and run out to rescue Wheezy.

As a result, I rescued wheezy but unfortunately, we were kidnapped by a Toy collector But Buzz and other friends witnessed that, and they began to rescue us.

Meanwhile, I met new toys Jessie and Bullseye at the Toy Shop. And I found out that I was the main character of the 1950’s TV show.

They told me to go to the museum together with saying that being loved by many people would be worth more than being Andy’s toy. I was conflicted for a long time, but eventually decided that I should stay with Andy. Also, I suggest that both ,disappointed Jessie and Bullseye, go to Andy’s house together.

Finally we managed to escape safely with the help of my friends. I got back to Andy with new friends!

#Toy Story 3 in 2010

In toy story 3, Andy, who was six years old in Toy Story 1, became an adult, and as he goes to college, he was worried about his toys. So Andy’s choice was to take only me to college and put the rest of the toys in the attic. Toys were abandoned by Andy’s mother’s mistake, and I followed them.

However, the toys were already feeling betrayed because they think they were abandoned by Andy. So they decided to stay in day-care center. Eventually, I tried to escape the day-care center alone and return to Andy.

I returned safely with Bonnie’s help and heard about the truth about the day-care center through Bonnie’s toy. Meanwhile, my friends were expected to play with new children every day.

However, contrary to their expectations, the children in day care were violent and the Teddy bear Lotso, began to act like a dictator. I went to there again to rescue my friends and told them that Andy still loves his toys. So we all decided to take the biggest adventure of our life to go back to Andy. Finally, we got back home.

And I was getting ready to go to college with Andy on the other hand the other friends were getting ready to go to the attic.

Andy handed toys to Bonnie. Eventually, I changed my mind to stay with my friends. It’s because Andy is a dear friend to me, of course, but they have become as precious as Andy by spending much time together.

Andy thought about it for a while, and finally he also handed me to Bonnie.

So far, I’ve given you a brief summary from Toy Story 1 to 3. In the meantime, we met, fought, became friends, and parted.

Movie Recommendation-Movie with Nice Musics

A lot of people love music, and so do I.

Among the various movie genres, I will choose a music movie as my favorite one.

Good movies have a synergy effect with good musics.

I would like to recommend the next three music movies that you would love.

#La La Land(2016)

La La Land is one of the masterpiece of music movies. It has a great story, production and acting which is a blessing to music and movie lovers. The stories of Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), who guide each other in the cities of the stars, have a sweet but also a bitter taste. This wonderful movie will make you fall in love with it. Their dancing and singing in the beautiful city of Los Angeles will keep make you smile. La La Land is where sorrow, joy, frustration and passion coexist with the life of dreamers.

Synopsis: While navigating their careers in Los Angeles, a pianist and an actress fall in love while attempting to reconcile their aspirations for the future.

#Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again(2018)

The movie, which looks into the brilliant youth of young Dona (Lilly James), is just exciting as you watch it. From the stage of lovely Donna and her friends to the song sung by Donna’s men, the eyes and ears are pleasant enough throughout the running time. Especially, Lily James’ great singing will make you happy.

Movie Recommendation – The Best Horror Movies That Make Your Summer Cool

Hi, guys! Welcome to movieroom! Today, I’m gonna recommend you some horror movies that will make you scary.

These days, the weather is so hot. Sometimes I feel like I’m gonna melt down when I’m outside. So, I usually think about how to make my summer cool and I think most of you are same as me. If you ever have thought about it at least once, I recommend you to watch horror movie! Of course it doesn’t directly influence to your body temperature or something, but it will make you scary and feel chilled. That’s why I like watching horror movies in summer. But actually, I thought it is totally imprecise information that watching horror movie is good for relieving heat when I was young. However, I found that some researchers say that watching horror movie is effective way to feel cool. After I find that, I often watch horror movie alone(although it is little bit scary) when it’s so hot. So, today I will introduce you some horror movies that make your summer cool!

#1 The Conjuring(2013)

The first movie is ‘The Conjuring’. It is made by James Wan who is well-known horror movie director all over the world. This is the first story of the ‘Conjuring Universe’ and surprising thing is that this movie is based on a true story. I watched this movie when I was 19 years old, I was very shocked after I heard that because the movie was so scary. I couldn’t believe that this movie is based on a true story.

The Perron Family who is main characters of the movie(Real Protagonist)

The movie begins with a family moving in. The Perron family move to new house with a relatively cheap price, but something weird situations happen. From the first day on, family hear mysterious noises again and again, mother is bruised on her body with no reasons, their dog die, and finally the ghost comes out and and starts to torment children. The new house was haunted house that lots of people died, and that’s why the price was relatively cheap.

Exorcist ‘The Warrens'(Real Protagonist)

As dangerous things continue to happen, the Perrons asked the Warrens for help to protect their children. After a long thought, the Warrens decided to help the Perron family. The Warrens found that the family’s situation is much more dangerous than they thought, and they also put themselves in danger while helping the Perron family. Even the Warren’s daughter was in danger, so they decided to run the exorcism as soon as possible. Although it was not easy, the Warrens succeeded to exorcism in the end, and the Perron family came back to normal.

I think this movie is very well-made horror movie that stimulates people’s fear. The reason why ‘The Conjuring’ is scary is because it is different from other ordinary horror movies. Usually, most of horror movies give fear indirectly through the characters, while ‘The Conjuring’ makes audiences scary directly. For example, the scene that clapping ghost comes out can make you go crazy. That’s why I think ‘The Conjuring’ is very well-made horror movie, and I strongly recommend this movie to you.

#2 Get Out(2017)

Second movie is ‘Get Out’. I was very shocked after I watch this movie because of crazy story and chilling twist of the movie. In this movie, there is no ghost or something spiritual factors. Instead, this movie gives us something realistic fear. Of course, the setting of this movie is totally impossible in reality, but after watching this movie you may think ‘Maybe, it really could be’ at least once.

Chris is normal boy who loves taking a picture. One day, he visit her girlfriend’s parents. Before he arrived her house, he worried about that her parents are gonna dislike him because he is black. Contrary to his worry, they were so nice people and he relieved his mind. However, as time goes on, he felt something weird about the town which they live. Most of people live in town were white people and few black people who live in the town were all housekeepers. Also, Chris found that Georgina(woman housekeeper) was watching him tenaciously and Walter(man housekeeper) was running around at night. Even, Rose’s mother who is a therapist suddenly hypnotized Chris for quitting smoking. As time goes on, he feel something is wrong with this town.

And then, an accident that maximizes his anxiety happened. There was an annual party in Rose’s house, so lots of people who live in the town came to her house. Most of them were old white people, but there was one young black man. Curiously and gladly, Chris greeted him and photographed him. At that time, flash was exploded and suddenly, the black man shed his nose and yelled at Chris “Get out!!!” like a crazy man. Chris was so shocked because of the incident and he decided to leave the town and come back to his home. However, Rose’s family found him running away and caught him. By drowsiness, Chris was tied to chair and confined. Then, what happened to him next? If you’re curious, let’s watch the movie ‘Get Out’.

Unlike other recommendations, I don’t tell you all story of this movie but introduce very briefly about the story. Why? Because I think watching this movie is the best way to enjoy this movie before you know the story of the movie. In this movie, there are pretty much hidden meanings of the scene and surprising reversal. So, it’s gonna be very interesting finding those things. The reason why I think this movie is good horror movie is because this movie gives us fear by overall atmosphere of the movie. The main theme of this movie is the ominous and bizarre feeling that comes from unfamiliar place and situation. Also, I felt this movie is so fresh, because it made both realistic and fantastic feeling by mixing ‘racism’ (which is quite heavy and sensitive subject) and ‘Mad scientist genre’. Therefore, I strongly recommend the movie “Get Out” to you.

Cannes 2019: ‘Parasite’ Review- South Korean Black comedy about class rage

The next movie that we want to talk about is… PARASITE!

Parasite(Gisaengchung, director; Joonho Bong), a black comedy about a family of clever scammers from South Korea’s underclass, won the Palme d’Or top prize at Cannes. It has played to critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film is a black comedy, tragic social commentary, suspense thriller and brutal bloodbath all rolled into one, and Bong has become a director who is a genre all of his own.

In Parasite, as well as his previous films Okja, Snowpiercer and The Host, Bong swiftly switches its tone, so that a light-hearted comedy becomes a devastating tragedy at a moment’s notice.

This movie connotes a lot and gives us much things to think about.

Let’s look at this movie deeply.

#Synopsis

Parasite is a family tragicomedy between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim(Ki-taek) family.

Ki-taek’s family of four is close, but fully unemployed, with a bleak future ahead of them. The son Ki-woo is recommended by his friend, a student at a prestigious university, for a well-paid tutoring job, spawning hopes of a regular income. Carrying the expectations of all his family, Ki-woo heads to the Park family home for an interview. Arriving at the house of Mr. Park, the owner of a global IT firm, Ki-woo meets Mrs.Park(Yeon-kyo), the beautiful young lady of the house. But following this first meeting between the two families, an unstoppable string of mishaps lies in wait.

#Plan

You will find a word “plan” a lot in the movie. PLAN is one of the most important mediums in the movie.

First of all, it all starts with a plan of Ki-woo. Afterwards, Ki-jeong and their mother make thorough plans. But it started to have some problems with the plan from the middle of the movie. Then, his father Ki-taek tells his son that he has a plan. At that time, Ki-woo believed his father, but then Ki-taek changed his mind. He says there’s a no-plan. Ki-taek says that even if you plan something, nothing will work out as it planned. This is a metaphor for the rich Park family and the poor Kim family. Including Mr.Park, who is a president of a big company, Park’s family always lives with a plan. On the other hand, Kim’s family who have no jobs and no plans live without any plans. As Ki-woo came in to Park’s house, his life seems to be with some plans, but eventually his plan ends in vain. The ending of the movie shows with a huge plan of Ki-woo. However, it’s just a plan of the lower class which could not come true..

#Up and Down

From the beginning to the ending, the movie is a metaphor for the upper and lower classes.

Director Bong is good at making this comparison. In his previous film ‘Snowpiercer’ he covered the gap between the rich and the poor on the train. Also, In the other film ‘Okja’, there was a proper comparison between the warmth of the mountain girl and the coldness of the city. Anyway, the movie ‘Parasite’ shows the rich at the top and the poor on the bottom.

The rich’s house, which is on the hill and even goes up the stairs in the house, and the poor’s basement where they can see the outside when look up through the window from underground.

Mr.Park who has fled to a hilltop house to escape from the heavy rain, and Ki-taek who need to go into the down stairs where the heavy rain stays.

And another group of low-class people hiding underground.

#The Meaning of the title ‘Parasite’

When I first heard about the parasite, I thought it would be a bizarre or a mystery movie about worms. But, in fact, the movie title means people who live like parasite. In the movie, Kim’s family go into Park’s house one by one, and live their lives parasitic. At the beginning of the movie, it shows an insect called camel cricket, which hairworms live in it as a parasite. Discovering a camel cricket shows a meaning of the title ‘parasite’.

#Smell

Smell is often mentioned in the movie. The smell can be seen as the perspective to the lower class. Mr. Park says the the driver Ki-taek smells like a dried radish. And Da-song says that Kim’s family smells the same.

At this point, the movie wants to say that people judge the others by their smell; class. At the latter part of the movie, Mrs. Park(Yeon-kyo) pinched her nose when she smelled Ki-taek who wore vintage clothes because of the flood. It’s an ironic scene while Yeon-kyo lifting her legs up in the car and heading it to Ki-taek’s head, but also pinching her nose. Moreover, when Mr. park talks about Ki-taek that he’s all good, but he doesn’t smell good, it makes Ki-taek feel very bad.

Eventually, the movie evaluates people by their smell and rank them by the smell – The smell of the rich, the smell of the poor.

At the end of the movie, Gi-taek realized that himself is judged by the smell.

When a husband of a housekeeper is dead, Mr. Park just pinched his nose at him and only cared about his son, even though he saw Ki-jeong is dying. At this point, Ki-taek clearly recognized what ‘smell’ represents, and ran to Mr. Park with a knife.

#Indian

Park’s son, Da-song played the role of an Indian since he started to play the Cup Scout. In this movie, the meaning of the Indian is a metaphorical representation of the family Park who were taken away things from their land, and Kim’s family can be seen as the Europeans who drove the Indians away. Also, Da-song’s Indian tent is another symbol that contrast the rich and the poor, whereas Da-song’s Indian tent is rain-proof and Kim’s house is swept away by rain.

Bong, a director of Parasite, before said that he wants to make people think hundreds of things. After watched this movie, I had thousands of thoughts in my head, and Bong’s wish seemed to be come true to many people, including me.

Reasons Why people love the new Aladdin live-action remake

Hello! welcome to Movieroom 🙂 I think that people all over the world know Aladdin which is based on the One Thousand and One Nights. In 1992, Aladdin was released by Walt Disney Pictures and became the highest-grossing film of 1992 with an earn $504 million in worldwide box office revenue.

On may in 2019, New Aladdin has been released. It was remade by Guy Ritchie and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1992 animated film of the same name. Mena Massoud played the role of Aladdin, Will Smith played the role of Genie and Naomi Scott played the role of Jasmine.

As of June 16, 2019, Aladdin has grossed $264 million in the United States and Canada, and $463 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $727 million, against a production budget of $183 million.

I watched Aladdin with my friend who is really big fan of it so she already knew it’s story and all the songs. On the contrary, all I knew about Aladdin was that rubbing a magic lamp would grant Aladdin a wish. Anyway, both I, who didn’t know Aladdin well, and the friend who is a big fan of Aladdin, were really satisfied with it!

So, I’m going to list 4 reasons why many people, including myself fell in love with this live- action movie. And I am positive that you will too.

#1. Perfect Computer-Graphic and lots of things to see

From the vast desert embodied in sophisticated CG to mysterious caves filled with plenty of treasures, and the colorful costumes of characters, there is a lot of things to see. It immerses us in the movie.

Cute Abu is also a computer graphic work.

Also, it was a movie full of songs and dances, I enjoyed watching the exciting songs, dances and CG scenes that made them more colorful. Especially, I was impressed with the song “Friend Like Me,” a song about Genie appears out of the lamp. It’s really fancy. The characters’ last partying scenes after the film was over also were scenes of joy like musical films.

#2. Will Smith, who did a good job playing Genie.

When Disney announced that will smith had been cast for Genie, some people were unsure of Will Smith as Genie. They criticized everything from his blue coloration to his style is not fitting what Robin Williams did in 1992. Will Smith has admitted he “started off fearful” taking on the role of the Genie after Robin Williams.

But, Contrary to people’s concerns, he succeeded in creating a perfectly Will Smith-style genie.

Will Smith adds his own humor to the role and makes it distinctly his style, appealing to audience. Will Smith Genie has the same songs Robin Williams’ Genie had, “Friend Like Me” and “Prince Ali”. Each of those songs is full of the verbally dexterous lyrics. But Smith’s take on each song is more rap-infused. It is more modernized, and it gives people greater enjoyment. “I started playing with the hip-hop flavor and then the Genie was really born in my mind from the music” he said.

#3. Not that Jasmine in 1992

Some people who watched Aladdin in 2019 say the name of the movie should change to Jasmine. It means Jasmine might provide huge impression to audience than Aladdin. Actually, Jasmine in the original animated film was of course, smart and possessed a strong sense of self-worth princess who did not want to be a prize to be won by other princes.

2019 Jasmine is portrayed as a stronger, more pivotal female character who focused on her achievement and goals. She doesn’t want to marry a Sultan but be the Sultan herself. She is a progressively minded person who longs to steer her country in the right direction and vies to be Agrabah’s first female Sultan, a feat she eventually achieves, not Aladdin.

Disney has long been criticized for putting together conservative values that claim to be “saved by the prince” in its works. Jasmine in 2019 Aladdin shows their efforts toward keeping pace with the trend of the times in recent years, presenting works featuring self-reliance princess.

#4. Soundtrack remakes and additions

The classic songs that you are looking forward to (“A Whole New World,” “Friend Like Me,” etc.) are all here. But these songs are not just a copy of the original but something different with original version. Some lyrics have been changed, and the arrangements are modernized with the occasional hip-hop influence. This little change not only brings back memories of the original Aladdin, but also gives the audience freshness.

There is also an entirely new song “Speechless” written by Pasek and Paul, who won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “City of Stars” in La La Land. It is loved as much as the existing songs. I think this song played the most important role in showing Jasmine, who changed from the original.

As you can see by the lyrics, speechless is written with lyrics that are necessary to show the changed Jasmine.

Movie Recommendation – Good Movies To Watch When You Wanna Laugh Like Crazy

Hi, guys! Welcome to movieroom! Today, I’m gonna introduce and recommend some comedy movies that will make you happy.

I like watching comedy movies when I am depressed or totally exhausted, because I feel much better after watch the comedy movie. There is a story that makes me watch comedy movie whenever I’m depressed. That day was a totally bad day to me. I screwed up my final exam and fought with my friend because of trivial matter. In addition, it started raining on my way back to home(I didn’t have umbrella), and my cellphone has broken because I slipped in the rain. Anyway, I arrived at my home and I fell on the bed, but it doesn’t seem that my feeling is going to be better. At that time, my sister turned the movie on named “Grown Ups” and I watched it. After I watched the movie, I felt much better. I forgot every bad things that I experienced on that day, and apologized to my friend. My problem was solved after my feeling changed(of course, my grade was not changed). After that day, I watch comedy movies whenever I feel bad or tired. So, I wanna introduce comedy movies to you, because comedy movie will make you guys feel better on bad day.

#1 Grown Ups(2010)

The first movie is “Grown Ups”. This is the movie that I already told you above. The story is about exciting events and memories of 5 best friends, who played basketball together when they were young. They meet again after a long time for the funeral of their coach.

Although it’s been a very long time that they meet and they live totally different lives, live in different places, but they found that no one had changed. However, the only conspicuous change is some of them have family now, and they each have some different problems. The problems are very diverse, for example children, conjugal relations, money, but problems are resolved gradually as the film progresses.

Overall atmosphere of this movie is delightful. When you watch this movie, you would feel like you are with old friends and it will makes you feel so comfortable. This movie “Grown Ups” is a good movie that reminds us of memories, friendship, and love that are forgotten in a life that changes according to a given life.

#2 White Chicks(2004)

The second movie is “White Chicks”. This is very famous movie all over the world, and I’m pretty sure that you guys have heard about this movie once. Marcus and Kevin are FBI who are very good at camouflage, but not at resolving the case are the main character. In the movie, they disguised themselves as woman because of some accidents. The story is about funny events and cases that are caused by their camouflage.

Women that they disguised were sisters of Wilson family as known as upper class family. They were supposed to go to a charity party, but they said that they won’t go to a charity party because of the cut of their face (caused by Marcus and Kevin). So, Marcus and Kevin go to the party with camouflage as Wilson sisters, and they experienced lots of events there. They dance in party, go to shopping with other upper class family, and Marcus was sold to basketball player in charity dating auction. In this process, they argued and fought but in the end, they overcome all of it and arrest the bad guy who was hiding at the charity party.

I think this movie is the best fit for today’s topic ‘Good movie to watch when you wanna laugh like crazy’. If you watch this movie, you will find yourself laughing again and again. In addition, this movie gives us some lesson like ‘You can win thanks to your partner that understand and encourage each other’, ‘The warmth of inside is more important than good appearance’ like that. Therefore, I strongly recommend this movie ‘White Chicks’ to you that caught both fun and lesson.

#3 Deadpool(2016)

The last movie is “Deadpool”. This movie is ‘Marvel Studio’ movie which is so popular all over the world. Some of you guys can think ‘Deadpool? Isn’t that a hero movie, not a comedy movie?’, but I think it is both right. This is the first Marvel movie that breaks fourth wall(means a virtual wall between character and audience), so this gives fresh feeling to us. Deadpool(main character) knows that he is a cartoon character and in the movie, he often tries conversation with audience.

Actually, Deadpool is his hero name which derives from the game and his name is Jade Wilson. He was a formal special forces mercenary, and he participate in secret experiment to treat cancer. However, actually the goal of experiment was not cancer cure, but activating super power. So, the experiment was so painful and he get super power eventually, but his appearance becomes so bad. Because of this, he decided to don’t go back to his love ‘Vanessa’ and to take revenge on the doctor who made him like that. In this process, he meet other X-men heroes and thanks to them, he succeed the revenge and go back to Vanessa.

Although ‘Deadpool’ is not entirely a comedy movie, but this movie shows the essence of American humor. Also, this movie gives hope to us by turning even desperate situation into humor. After watching this movie, I’m sure that you’ll fall in love with this hero Deadpool who is strong, jolly and even cute! Plus, devices different from ordinary movie(breaking fourth wall, not typical hero) will refresh your mood.

What is the message ‘Princess Mononoke’

『LIVE（生きろ）』

There is one movie which I totally changed my perception about the story after growing up. The name of the work is ‘Princess Mononoke‘ from Studio Ghibli, one of the most famous animation films in the world.

In my childhood, I never understood the story whenever I watched it. Not only that, it always made me feel creepy and confused. ”Why are animals and human fighting each other?” ”What is the purpose for animals and human to fight?” But actually just a few weeks ago, I watched the film again after a long time. And I realized that I caught what the story wants to tell more deeply.

‘Princess Mononoke’ was released in 1997, and still beyond countries it is loved by people all over the world. In order to get prepared for making this film, it is said that the director Hayao Miyazaki, everyone recognised as a real genius, spent about 16-year to develop his ideas of the film.

What is the message Hayao Miyazaki wants to tell us going so far as spending many years to make this movie?

So this time I would like you to know the story ‘Princess Mononoke‘ and the Japanese anime company ‘Studio Ghibli‘ which produced the film briefly. And then let’s explore the messages of their works which Hayao Miyazaki wants to convey to us.

For those people who have never watched before, I hope this article will be kind of footstep to try to watch!

・Plot of ‘Princess Mononoke’

Setting in the late Muromachi period (about 1300-1500s) Japan, the story follows the young Emishi (one of the Japanese tribes) princess named Ashitaka, the hero of this movie.

One day, he was cursed by Tatari, one of the Japanese demons of nature*, which tried to attack his village. In order to work out on his own destiny rather than just waiting his death, he left his village and traveled to west. And there, he met the people called Tataraba who cut open the forest and make iron, the chief of Tataraba named Eboshi, and a human girl San who lives with the mountain dogs protecting their forests. Then, Ashitaka knew the reasons why Tatari appeared, and he got involved in a struggle between the gods and animals, which try to protect their forests, and the humans who consume nature resources.

*Traditionally Japanese people think about nature as gods, and it is related to Japanese religion ‘Shintoism’.

・About the film company ‘Studio Ghibli’

Studio Ghibli (スタジオジブリ) is a Japanese film studio based in Tokyo, Japan. It was founded in 1985 by the director Hayao Miyazaki and other three people, and now it is best known for its anime film all over the world.

What is the message of this film?

I think the message of ‘Princess Mononoke’ is that “We are living in an irresolvable dilemma, and every creature fight based on each justices.” The system of our world is always what the more each creature try to stick own justices, the more we need to fight and take from others.

The director, Hayao Miyazaki, talked about the purpose of ‘Princess Mononoke’ like this before; “Our purpose of this work doesn’t mean ‘Trying to solve the issues all over the world“. That is because it is definitely ”impossible” to lead the struggles between god of nature and human into ”HAPPY END”. However, even though the world is in the hatreds and slaughters, absolutely there is something worth to living. Something great or beautiful exists forever in our world.”

The film ‘Princess Mononoke’ enable us to not only enjoy the great works of animation but also give some opportunities to think about our society and lives. I am sure that he wants to convey the core message related to our lives so deeply by making the animation film which all generation people are enjoyable.
